Bill Harris, City Manager
City of St. Augustine
P.O. Box 210
St. Augustine, FL 32085-0210
Dear Mr. Harris:
We are writing to express our concern regarding the difficulty in accessing the
public, City of St. Augustine-related agenda, minutes and documents used to conduct
city business and decision-making.
We respectfully request that the city make a commitment to placing on its web
site, as soon as available and in a reasonable timeliness prior to each meeting,
all agendas of meetings. This would include not just the City Commission, but
all boards and ad-hoc groups as well. In addition, we request that all approved
minutes be posted on the web within 24 hours of their approval, as well as City
public and legal notices as soon as they are available.
We also request that copies of ordinances that are coming before the City Commission
and/or Planning and Zoning, as well as any staff commentary about the ordinances
that would clarify the purposes of the ordinance and the positions being taken
by the city, be posted on the city web site prior to the meetings or public hearings
that concern them.
Thank you. We look forward to a greater availability of timely information about
the actions of the St. Augustine government so that its citizens can participate
in that government in a meaningful way.
Sincerely,Judith Fox-Fliesser, M.D.
